Billy Ray Hughes Sr., 78, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born June 7, 1945 in Conway, a son of the late Sasser and Bernice Martin Hughes.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was predeceased by his loving wife of forty-five years, Faye Hughes; son, Billy Ray Hughes Jr. and sister, Genera Hughes.

Billy Ray was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where he was a past deacon. Along with serving in the US Army, he was owner/operator of Hughes Heating and Cooling for over fifty years. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Billy Ray was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his daughter, Lynn H. Fox (Tom); siblings, Wayne Hughes and Glen Hughes (Deborah); grandchildren, Kaitlyn May Fox and Collin Layne Young; special sister-in-law, Ann Ammons Sawyer; loving companion and friend, Joyce Hardwick; special care givers, Angela and Kayla Gibbs; along with many other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Monday, April 15, 2024 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Hill and Rev. Brandon Jones officiating.

Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, it would be Billy's request that any desire to honor his legacy, support the causes that were important to him, as he worked tirelessly to share the love of God in the lives of so many.
