Betty Lou Smith, 86, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 16, 1939 in Conway, the daughter of the late Harry Henry Hucks and Sadie Belle Jordan Hucks.

She was also predeceased by her Son, Douglas Brown, Daughter, Amy Gasque; infant daughter, Darlene Brown; brothers, Carl Hucks, Levon Hucks, Donnie Hucks, Tommy Hucks, Randy Hucks and Allen Hucks; sister Jeanwood Todd.

Betty was a Devot Christian, who enjoyed going to church, serving her Lord and Savior and singing in church. She loved reading her Bible and was very active in the prison ministry. She also volunteered at Horry Council on Aging. She loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of fifty- two years, Henry Clinton Smith; son, Mark Smith; brother, Henry Hucks; sister, Doris Hucks; two grandchildren, Cory Gasque (Savannah) and Christina Skipper (Chandler); three great grandchildren, Jackson Gasque, Sawyer Gasque and Weston Skipper and many other family and friends who will miss her.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Conway FW Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Cannon and Dr. Billy Carroll officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.

Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
