Archie Brown, age 74, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Born June 4, 1949, in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late Norton and Lessie Brown. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, JD Brown, Lloyd Brown, Ida Mae Jordan, and Mary Ann Proffitt.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, son Scottie Andrew Brown Sr. (Mandy) of Aynor, SC, son Stevie David Brown (Andrea) of Conway, SC, and daughter Stephanie Nicole Branch (Logan) of Galivants Ferry, SC. He is also survived by grandchildren Scottie Andrew Brown Jr., Laney Andrea Brown, Mackenzie Lenora Brown, Shelby Lynn Brown, Anna Grace Brown, and twin boy and girl Branch arriving in April. In addition, he is survived by sister Lois Edge, sister Joyce Ann Whidby, twin brother Paul Brown, many loving nieces, nephews, and many more family and friends. He is also survived by his best pal Boots, his Yorkie, who never left his side for a second.
He graduated from Conway High School and then was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served for 2 years. After returning home from the Army, he married his loving wife on September 3, 1971. He began working at AVX for about a year and then began his career in forestry. He worked for Wiegand Timberland Company up until 1990 and then began working at Squires Timber Company, until his retirement in 2011. After his retirement, he spent time fixing anything that was broken such as boat motors, tractors, and so much more. He also loved spending time in his garden and of course fishing anytime he had the chance. Although, Mr. Brown's favorite job of all was being "pawpaw Archie."
A funeral service will be held at Watson Funeral Home in Conway, SC on Saturday, December 9th, @3:00 pm. Rev. Mack Hutson will be officiating both the funeral and graveside services. The graveside service will follow the funeral at Westside Memorial Garden in Conway, SC. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm, on Saturday at Watson Funeral Home, before the funeral services.
