Obituary

Anita Carol Ricardi

September 9, 1939 – May 24, 2025

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Anita Carol Ricardi, who departed this life on Saturday, May 24, just shy of two months after her beloved husband, Anthony. She was 85.

Born and raised in New York, Anita lived a life filled with warmth, grace and unwavering devotion to her family. In March of 1960, she became engaged to Anthony Ricardi, and the two were married on October 29 of that same year. Together, they shared 64 beautiful years of marriage, a true partnership built on love, laughter and family.

Anita was a woman of quiet strength and deep compassion. She dedicated herself to creating a home full of kindness, warmth, and welcome. Her greatest joy was found in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. In 1977, she and Anthony moved to South Carolina, later settling in Myrtle Beach in 2020 to be closer to their grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

Anita had a gift for making any space feel like home. She loved to cook and enjoy a glass of wine at happy hour. Her gentle spirit, quick wit, and loving heart touched everyone who knew her. Whether enjoying a day at the beach or cheering on her grandchildren in their pursuits, Anita was always present offering hugs, support and unconditional love.

She was endlessly proud of her family, especially her grandchildren—Jennifer and Matthew—who were the light of her life. Anita took joy in every visit, every phone call, and every milestone they achieved. She loved hearing about their accomplishments and seeing everything life brought them. Her presence was a steady and nurturing one, and her absence will be deeply felt.

Anita is reunited now with her beloved Anthony. She leaves behind her son Paul and daughter-in-law Angie, her daughter Toni and son-in-law Clete, her cherished grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) and Matthew (Melanie), her brother John (Mona) and dear friends who will carry her memory forward with love.

In honoring Anita's life and legacy, the family invites donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, which Anita always worked to support, in lieu of flowers.

A Graveside Service will be held 11am, Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Florence National Cemetery.
